This Level 2 course provides students with the 2nd unit for the Food Safety Supervisor qualifications required in the hospitality industry sector.

Level 1 is a prerequisite.

Students will receive a Statement of Attainment with the code SITXFSA002 – Participate in safe food handling practices.

This course is for people working in the hospitality or retail food jobs like:

  • Kitchen hands, sandwich hands
  • Cooks
  • Chefs
  • Catering staff
  • Food and beverage attendants
  • Supermarket staff
  • Café and fast food outlet cooking crew
  • Catering operations or retail food outlets
  • Canteen staff
  • After School Care

If you are in Victoria, this course can also be completed in a face-to-face classroom instead of online.

Train when and where you want!

Online training allows you the freedom to choose when and where you study, and even to print off your own certificate.

  • Flexible learning: You can stop and start your training at any time.
  • The total course time will vary depending on your basic computer skills and Food Safety knowledge.
  • Generally, most students will take between 2 and 4 hours to complete Level 2 Food Safety Training.
  • Upon completion of all assessment tasks you will have access to your certificate immediately.

How you will be assessed

Assessment has two components:

  1. A series of online questions to assess your knowledge, AND
  2. A workplace practical skills assignment.

The workplace assignment is completed on the job, in a real or simulated workplace environment and observed by a suitably qualified third party observer.
